Risk Warning

Forex Trading on margin carries a high level of risk, and may not be suitable for all traders. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to trade forex you should carefully consider your trading objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. It is possible that you could lose some or all of your initial capital and therefore you should not trade money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with forex trading, and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts. Having said that, anyone with a sound mind can trade Forex but he must be aware of the risks involved as highlighted above.

Maid Miriam does Forex!

Hi folks I'm now back and I have not met Robin Hood and Miriam during my holidays!

OK it is actually Mirriam, Mirriam MacWilliams to be exact. You know she is the lady who is a guru in Options trading and conducts classes with Wealth Mentors locally. I was at one of those free Forex previews the other night and I was surprised that she is now into Forex as well. If you need any proof that Forex Trading is the instrument of choice for trading, this must be it. In fact, this was not even mentioned in the advertisement that the Forex course will be conducted by Mirriam herself, maybe not to detract from her Options Trading courses.

Anyway, some details on the Forex course on offer by Wealth Mentors. The preview was conducted by Albert Seah who gave (IMHO) an over-simplified view of Forex trading. This is in line with the course where the emphasis is on simple rules; no complicating indicators or technical analysis, no news analysis, no software, etc. From the preview, it did show examples of winners using candlestick charting so my only guess is that it would be using trend as the main guide to enter a trade but I could be wrong.

It is a two day course (Sunday and Monday) and the list price is RM6997 and after all the usual discounts and special promotion, it comes down to RM4997. It comes with 3 months mentoring but still seems too much for just two days. It may be good for the very non-technical but how effective it is is left to be seen but there are plenty of winning trades by Mirriam on show and some positive testimonials in the ads.

It would be good for those who have attended this course to give their comments so that others can learn if this is worth the effort and the money.

  1. Hehe i attended Mirriam's Forex Trading Course on 5&6 July 2009. :)

Well, it is really cool investment vehicle. I regret myself to learn this so late. I'm now practising and gain more experience in trading Forex. Her strategy is just simple and easy to apply not much preparation needed before entering a trade.

Hope you guys free yourself to attend Mirriam's Free seminar. It is worth your time.

  2. Hi Lam, it is great that you have joined the Forex family. It would be good for those readers to share a bit more on Mirriam's method. Since she does not use much technical indicators (from what I gathered from the preview), what does she use then? Is it just trend lines and moving arverage crossings, support and resistance? Patterns and candlesticks? And what timeframe she uses mainly? Thanks for sharing and happy trading.

  3. Hi,
I've went for the Singapore preview recently. The course fee is S$3497. Which is alot more expensive then that held at Malaysia which is approximately S$2035 (RM4997). Hmmm.. maybe it will be good for Singaporean to go and attend the course there. :) Any idea where will this course be held in Malaysia?

  4. I believe the one in Malaysia will be held in KL/PJ. You can check out the details in the web site of Wealth Mentors.

  5. Don't waste your money. Look at how the currency pairs move on any time frame and you'll be able to figure a way to scalp the market. A simple thing to remember is nothing goes up or down forever! I don't claim to make hundreds of pips in a week but my gains have been a steady flow weekly and I've already achieved more than 100% gains in 7 months. So, practise whatever strategy you may have with a demo account and then rather than paying such a huge sum to learn simple techniques.... use this money to trade for yourself.

    Cheers!

  6. Yes, I suppose once you know all the basics, the rest is really up to you. They can only teach you so much and its practice, practice and more practice to get the experience and the feel of the market with the help of some indicators.

  7. I had attended the course in 2009. It's not worth paying the fee. The 3 month support also not valuable. Just made usd384.oo with usd2000.00 capital and with the same intraday strategy of Mirriam, my account burst. My TPs were not hit and price against me. When I asked, they said I must follow the rules which I was following her rules when trading. I can say that the winning/lost is 50/50 using her intraday and short term strategy. Not many pips and you must stare on the chart. Using H1 SMA22 to enter and Daily MACD. I think there must be some other tools, or analysis not taught by Mirriam. The class was not taught by Mirriam but Aaron Sim because Aaron is a Forex Trader and Mirriam was successful with Options Trading and not even make any million with Forex. Don't be fooled by their marketing campaign!

    1. I think the Best Forex course is by Hector De Ville (Comprehensive 3 SMA System and will give you overall understanding and many strategies to trade FOREX and other instruments). You don't have to attend the course. It is online. It costs USD197. Much much better than Mirriam Mc William and Aaron Sim from Wealth Mentor. Really change my trading and my life.

    2. Mirriam course is very expensive. Wealth Mentor are not making money with tradings but with trainings. That's why their courses are much more expensive. Real traders are sincere to help people to trade and not charging much money about thousands of dollars to people who want to learn. They are real but pirates.
